Denzell Devall( who I'm a little worried about but think the tigers end off with)

I think Devalls decision will be on the positio he wants. From reading various sources, I think Devall really wants to play a hybrid role or strictly OLB but Lsu is recruiting him at DE only. Also yamamma has said he is up to like 250 which may not be ideal size for LB in our system. If he wants to play end he picks Lsu. If he wants to play LB in a 3-4 maybe he picks A&M or Bama.

Okay cool. Thx for the info. I'm assuming for MLB at that size? Then it may come down to whether he wants to play inside in a 4-3 or outside in a 3-4.

Did Avery Say this or is this just a gut feeling. Your entitled to your opinion but you said that as if you had a legitimate source.

What's up with random feelings like this. They're gonna have to persuade him quick since he's an EE. Link or GTFO

Just my list of what I would like to see (of what seems plausible) at this point. Don't really know if we're looking at any JUCO guys, maybe Dextor Blackmon? And there could be some surprises, but as of now...

QB - Jameis Winston
WR - Dwayne Benjamin (or D'Vario Montgomery)
OL - Vadal Alexander
Derek Edinburgh
DE - Denzel Devall
DT - Quay Evans
LB - Lorenzo Phillips
Deion Jones
DB - Landon Collins

No you are right. He will end up at Florida, after he retires from the nfl and settles down with his family in his home state.

What makes you say this? Don't drop something on the board like this, and not explain why you think this will happen.

As for Avery Johnson A LOT of good stuff is happening right now with the Florida staff and him. Charlie Weis is going all out for him and basically telling him what he wants to hear.

I have a good "source" regarding Johnson. Lets just say his dads wishes are for him to end up at UF, and Avery and his dad have a different relatioship than Patrick did.

Avery Johnson and Patrick Petterson are half brothers. I'm guessing they have the same father and I am guessing that the dad left Patrick's mom for Avery's mom. That would be the only reason I can think that Avery would have a much better relationship with his father then Patrick.

Just remember, Patrick went by Johnson right up until him going to LSU, then he switched his name to Peterson. Also, Mr. Johnson was pissed when Avery commited to LSU. It came out of no where. He was up visiting last year, unofficially, and committed.

Also, I think LSU had the "in" with his brothers success there obviously, but I think that also is sort of coming back to hurt them at this point.

If you follow his interviews he makes a point to say "I'm wide open".

I think what the Johnsons want to see the Florida offense throwing down field. If their offense is boring, and he doesn't want to go there, I would bet he still doesn't leave the state of Florida.

At the UF game last year, they had over 20 people there and they were making jokes that Avery needs to stay close so they could go to more games.

According to Avery a ton of bridges were burned and if the old staff was still at Florida, there would be no chance whatsoever at getting him.

There is still a whole season to be played and both schools have new offenses so that will go a long way for deciding things. All I can say is that Florida is in his head a lot more than LSU right now. If he had to make a decision right now, it would be for Florida.

Thats a very reasonable thought... and usually I'd agree somewhat, but I have a feeling this is going to be a special year for us and as a result of the excitement LSU will be an ever bigger magnet for not just AJ but some other big names not even currently considered current leans

Yea success definitely goes a long way in recruiting. Auburn was able to land alot more recruits because of the national championship than had they not won it. But same with Oregon just making it there. U don't have to win a national championship to recruit well, u just have to win. A team like south Carolina did great(before clowney) in recruiting last year than in years before just for winning the SEC East. Jimbo winning at Florida st. is another example. So that being said all LSU has to do is win the SEC and that will go along way in recruiting(just winning big will help a ton).

But even besides that I think Kragthorpe being the OC can go a long way as far as recruiting passing quarterbacks, pass blocking offensive lineman, and WIDE RECEIVERS!! Dude likes to throw the ball and if I'm the LSU staff I'm putting that in the head of Avery. And I'm saying with Mettenberger throwing to you and Jarvis Landry preventing any double teams, yall three could put up huge numbers!!! And I know that another coach can say well they got Jarvis already but any top team such as Florida, Florida state, or bama is going to have top notch receiver recruits, but LSU only does have one top notch young recruit and one is a good thing.

Are you sure about the family situation? It doesn't sound anything like the story that has been told.

ETA: I'm almost positive they have the same mother and father and Johnson was the mom's maiden name. They didn't get married until a few years ago so the kids' last name was/is Johnson. Peterson's father has never been referred to as "Mr. Johnson", his name is Patrick Peterson.

LSU is not even on his radar.

It's between State, Alabama, and Ole Miss in that order.

Yea I haven't heard much about Quay Evans goin to LSU. I know we are on his radar but I know we are long shots. I'll be extremely satisfied with Nick James at the Nose Tackle spot. I would love for LSU to get Quay but I doubt it so I hope Quay end up at MS state.

well, the dad lived here in baton rouge. he came here when patrick chose to play here. avery even played ball at Redemptorist for a year. That doesn't sound like they had a bad relationship.

you may be right, the father relationship doesn't make sense, though.

Glad to know I'm not just imagining things re the name situation. Also, if you check back to the articles, Avery just called the staff and committed out of the blue on Wednesday 9/1/10 not on an unofficial visit.

This "source" may know something, but it sounds like he is probably just fos considering all of the incorrect factual information in the story.
