In College Station. Proves freshman can play right away. Somebody said/told me Foster was shite at Center till the Bama game. Was Fatheree highly ranked?
Here's something to consider: If we pull Mr. Shorts and one more portal OL it becomes easier for Jones/Campbell to adapt and execute in the Unit.
Kind of the way Deculus and Magee(?) were a fit in 19. They did have some experience but had slightly less physical ability than the others. I think the drawback on Jones/Campbell playing at once will be inexperience not talent.
Boot Up!

Miles Frazier is the guy that comes in at LT right away IMO.

Emery Jones in my opinion is going to start a guard next year and will be fantastic, he dominated everybody he went up against in high school.

Goes to show how much OL matters. We wanted Foster and Fatheree and struck out on both unfortunately.

That being said, A&M had a very good OL overall this year and did nothing with it.

It’s a freshman all America team, they have to fill it up with names. Doesn’t prove that freshman OL on the whole are ready to compete in college.

Here's a thought, far-fetched as it may be: What if West is some kind of bad arse Center right off the bat? Foster did it in College Station. Was the Georgia kid a freshman?
That'd be way to sweet... 3 frosh with PT.

Does anybody know if Davis was already on board and had input at the camp that West got offered?

We went from having no depth to a lot of depth pretty quick.

West played NT and guard in high school, so the learning curve at center will probably be a lot for him early on.

He is early enrolling, but I would guess at minimum a few of the 2nd/3rd year guys will be in front of him at center this spring/summer/fall.

van pran was a 2nd year player this year, not true freshman. He played in 4 games his freshman year and took a redshirt.

Keep in mind Foster and van pran were top rated interior olinemen coming out compared to West as well.

There can be a big difference between a freshman making All-American and someone selected on Freshman All-American team. The former is being elite amongst all position players regardless of class (like Stingley making A-A as a frosh); the latter is being the best amongst those freshmen who crack their team's lineup at the position.

Seems so, huh. I'm not forgetting about Martinez either. I liked him as a freshman, even as little as he saw the field. He may be our Center after the smoke clears. Delly has to factor in too.
If the S&C/Nutrition guys make a difference with Bradford we could have another big time guy. Kinda tired of saying that every year, though. New staff so maybe.
Gonna be fun to see how it all shakes out.

Oh, of course not. Those dudes are extreme outliers. I'm hoping our two guys are the same type - way ahead of the curve.
I know Foster was known to have a nasty disposition in HS same as Campbell. Don't know about Jones, but he kicked a lot of arse in all the video I've seen.

A&M people all said OL was a weak point of their team most of the year. These guys probably got their names mentioned because they started all year, not because they were dominant players. Fatheree struggled in several games I watched.

Yuuuuge difference, of course. Got me thinking because they did it vs. the best competition in the country.

I wonder if emery jones could be the answer at center just for his freshman year.

I believe they will find an upperclassman in the portal but i think jones could do it.

Forgot he isn't enrolling early anymore.

I new about the NT but thought he played Center on Offense. Then he would have to be a real smart bad arse, too!
Yeah, I know those guys were top rated, his rating is why I said it would be far-fetched.

Certainly not because they were dominant players. Apparently Foster sucked up till the Bama game. I do remember him getting his shite pushed in a couple times but I didn't watch them much.
I'll guess freshman who are good enough to start all year in the SEC gotta be considered on the freshman AA team and might even have a leg up down the road for the real AA team.

Imma call it...

LT - Frazier
LG - E. Jones
C - Dellinger
RG - Shorts
RT - Campbell

Martinez and Wire backstop the freshmen.

I think you see Shorts or Wire at RT and whoever isn’t playing tackle starting at guard. Wire is a good player, I do think he’s better suited for guard however
