Thi storm is quickly turning from a garden variety tropical storm into a complete shite show. I've lost count on the numbers of transformers I've seen exploding.
I dunno if you were one of the ones ragging on anyone who took this storm seriously in the tracking thread, but....
It was never going to be garden variety tropical storm.
Even though it didn't reflect the intensification as sustained wind speed, it still has a really low pressure for a TS/Cat 1.

Yeah, it will really piss me off if I see any "where did this come from?" from one of the louder voices mocking anyone who considered this worse than an ordinary thunderstorm and dared to suggest widespread power outages in BR for three days or more.
And no, that's not an exaggeration.
Someone (although in jest, but the point was the same) literally said that the thunderstorm last week would be more significant for BR than this storm.
Let's see how THAT call pans out.
(Although I saw some of them try to hedge their bets earlier today by exaggerating what the "gloomers" were predicting. )

I'm no expert or anything but when the pressure got into the 970s I knew we were in for a bitch of a storm no matter how they classified it. This thing is wrecking shite in Arabi right now and has been for almost 6 hours now.
