I am couple blocks from the Tchefuncta in Beau chene. All these reports and pics of the river are making me wonder exactly how close the river is creeping to me right now. I haven;'t been on the road to look
It could be in my backyard and I haven't even noticed

Just got back from the lake. Monroe has ankle deep water. Jefferson is chest high. Lakefront has waves over my head.

That sucks.
They were always good.
I know it's just material things, but that's his business, too

Another FB post: River in Tchefuncta Estates "highest it's ever been"
I'm not in Louisiana, but I know the real problem is when the lake is 'full' and the river can't drain.

Drove around eastern Mandeville a couple times today. Several trees leaning heavily on utilities on Soult, Hwy 59, 1088, and Ronald Reagan. Transformers blowing etc. Ofcourse we are still out of power in Quail Creek and I'm guessing it will be a while considering the current winds.

My aunt's house in Beau Chene has water creeping up but not from the river. Just from the rainfall.

DAMN.. It's times like this when I appreciate raised housing and the decision my parents made to move to a higher grounded area.

Where? Post pics please. We are monitoring for a buddy who evacuated here. He lives on the lakefront.

Just saw video of the river (FB, again) on Magnolia Ln(back of Beau Chene).
There is no 'current' to speak of .. the water won't start to drain until the Lake starts to empty .. going to just backup in the bayous and ditches.
