Soon all the talk will be how we dodged a bullet, and next time not so lucky, etc.

Which is why I will not be surprised of we see this thing continue intensifying, especially if it takes another westerly jog...the GFS also did predict this northerly jog followed by a jog to the west

I think we'll have power out and shite but the destruction won't be as bad as gustav overall

I don't see why the destruction won't be similar. The conditions we will face will be almost identical as Gustav.

We are very lucky this storm doesn't have another 24 hours over the Gulf. Doesn't look like the wind speeds will catch up to the pressure drop (almost cat 3 pressure) at this point.

The Weather Channel guys are burning my arse. Guess it is time to send them an email that the area in lower Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes are much more than just marsh, really insignificant area so not much potential for damage caused by the hurricane

I would say the destruction won't be as bad as gustav bc gustav knocked so many of the weak trees down and people paid to have their other trees cut down after.

I can't imagine it being worse than Gustav. If so, I stand corrected.

Gustav power was out for 12 days, it took me 2 months to clean up my little 5 acre tract from trees and limbs.

Maybe, I certainly not know, but Gustav was as bad as Andrew in my book.
