Bay and most others have said that the intensity on that thing can't be trusted bc they can't really predict that

Will do. That last GFS model doesn't look good for us. Rain on top of our saturated ground and wind means no power. We may end up in Houston at relatives. Calcasieu schools closed tomorrow and if that model is correct Thursday doesn't look good either.

as far as I know the path is a good prediction according to the more knowledgeable guys here

I will be going down to Pass Christian beach shortly and will update the tracking thread with a report of the wind/surf about 3-3:30 pm

Yeah, if I remember Bay's explanation correctly, GFS uses pressure to forecast wind speed. Since this storm is odd in that the pressure is really low for the relative wind speed, the expected wind speed won't be as high.

What gets me is the snail pace in a westward direction.

I don't know anyone else that is predicting all of that..most sites are predicting it to stay a Cat 1 then to destabilize once over land(not long from now)..not trying to ignore hubba's gfs report but i can't see all that taking place
