Fast moving cat 3 would not do the same flooding as this slow moving storm

It is in my neighborhood. My mom is sending me pictures right now. It's really scary. We've never had to worry about water in my house, but I am for the first time now.

Anyone think the flooding is really bad because it's moving so slowly?

A higher category storm probably wouldn't have done the same type of damage.

This certainly has to be the worst flooding in the Northshore's modern history.

Would be absolutely catastrophic.

So you are saying a higher cat storm following the same path at the same speed would have done less damage??

OK cool.

No I'm saying it would be nearly impossible for a higher cat storm to follow Isaac's path. The damage would be very different.

Absolutely. Isaac will never be replicated. It's unbelievable what it has done. A more powerful storm wouldn't have stalled. There would be less flooding, more wind damage. Of course some areas would experience higher storm surges though.
