Here's the Facebook page I was talking about earlier. People posting addresses of people needing to be rescued. Might help y'all zone in on the area.

anybody interested in forming a dog rescuing party tomorrow? I know 2 pups that could certainly use it in LaPlace
I would go with in a second if I lived out there.

I'll never understand, especially after Katrina, why someone would go into the attic when the water starts rising.
That's where you're supposed to go. Always keep an ax and supplies in the attic for this very reason. Your either really young, or not from Nola

Any chance this flooding in LaPlace is partially due to the levee upgrades in other places around the Nola Metro areas? That extra water contained has to go somewhere.
This is a really stupid thought. The problem is the wind angle and the fact that the damn storm sat on our coast for so long.
The amount of water N.O., or Metairie for that matter, has pumped into something the size of Lake Ponchatrain is a drop in the bucket.
Major props to you folks who are trying to help.

I did get word water has started to recede in Riverlands. Water no longer in houses on Bienville St, but still water in the streets making it impassible by car.
