Woke up to 3 emails from people who couldn't get the screws to break free on the carve bowls of their B&S engines. I know they're a pain and you really shouldn't even bother removing them at first with a screwdriver. Google "hammer impact".
That's really the only day to get them off unless you have a good pair if small channel locks with sharp teeth.
Its a must that the carb be removed from the motor before trying to remove them. The torx head bolts that hold on the carve can be removed with a 5/32 socket since most people don't have female torx wrench or socket.

How about if theres deposits in the gas tank and someone already used acetone to try and remove them.
A little apprehensive about just putting sea foam in with the gas and hoping it doest clog anything.
Or will the sea foam dissolve and allow for burnoff?

Honestly,I would remove the tank, spray degreaser in it and hose it out before moving forward.

MJ: can I run two fridges, a small window unit and some TVs on a 6500 honda?

Thanks. Started it up fine ran fine, then had a fuel hose leak.
Now its been running and seems to be fine. Missing a little bit but i figure running a tank of sea foam would remedy.
Why can i not find that blaster small engine tune up stuff that you spray in the spark plug hole? Lowes doesnt carry it anymore. Ir what is a good substitute

If the generator has a built in inverter then you can hook uo a tv. Just turn one thing on at a time and check to see if you start tripping breakers on the generator.

Just a quick little FYI,a bunch of generators with the 10hp Briggs engines have the plastic float/needle assembly.
The main brass jet is what usually gets clogged and you have to remove that jet from the plastic tube in the center and open the hole up with a needle. The little jet just pops out from the front side, open the hole with the needle and using a q-tip push it back set in the plastic tube.be careful to properly align that funky looking oring before putting the carb back together.
You must remove the carb to perform this procedure and if you don't have the proper torx wrench to remove the two bolts that hold the carb on then you can use a 9/32 socket to get them off.
You hit the nail on the head, MJ2. Our genny at work had the same problem and this was the fix.
Thanks for helping fellow TD members out.

Look for name plates on everything and do a little math. Should be inside the doors.
Volts X Amps = Watts.
