Walker, LA
growing season 2 on the centipede to bermuda plan
yesterday applied lesco stonewall 0-0-7 with prodiamine and applied MSM turf+ surfactant to pretty much everything green (clover, burweed, virginia buttonweed, etc) may have been a week late on the pre-emergent, but i mean we got 8" of snow last week, and now its 82 deg. Hoping the snow will help destroy the centipede on the rebound

At this point the thickest parts of the brown dormant bermuda have the fewest weeds which is what I want entirely.

How long should it take the MSM turf to do its thing?
When is the right time to know when to scalp and fertilize?

I'm going to burn my front yard this year. Probably in late March or early April (I'm in a burb of Memphis).

Never burned it before but it's supposed to be one of the best things for your yard.

MSM is a slow acting herbicide. Especially in the winter. It is going to take about 3 weeks to work.

Scalp at the first signs of green up but very little chance of a frost.

Rough estimate of ferting is tax day.

like with fire or fertilizer?

Setting my yard on fire would be way easier than scalping/bagging. It'd most likely be a hard sell to the wife, though.

Exact same situation here. Best of luck my friend. Hopefully we’re both successful this year.

Fire. You burn down the thatch layer and it adds nutrients to the lawn. I've never done it. I just use a scarifier.

Which one?

When do you plan on doing this?

Husqvarna. I'll do probably two weeks after I fertilize just so it can recover quickly.

That should do the trick.

Sir Saint-no and my whole yard really doesn't need it this year. The only areas that need it are in corners-fence to fence and fence to house. However, if I'm going to crank it up I just soon do the whole thing.
