I usually plant purple hull field peas because of the large number of decent sized peas they make per pod.

Someone recommended Mississippi Silver which I think is a crowder pea.

What do y’all like that has a good harvest per pod and tastes the best?

Ms. Silver is my favorite. I plant PHP's too.

I planted top pick this year and would definitely recommend. There’s a lady from Abbeville, MS that sells them on eBay. Got them from her.

Creel Crowder. It’s a heirloom bush variety with huge peas. I haven’t been able to find any for sale though in the last year. Originally got them from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.

Silver Crowders cant touch the great taste of purple hull peas. Plant 1 row of silver crowders first and try them, before planting multiple rows.

I might do that but at my age Iam not a fan of the vining varieties. The ones that produce the pods on top of plant are great.
