Depends on what quality you are looking for. I've got a mixed bag of furniture in my house. The master bedroom set was purchased needing refinishing from a dealer on Magazine St. many years ago for $300 and it is in the Art Deco style from the 30's with lots of curves on the wood pieces and beveled scrolled glass for the mirrors. Mahogany veneers, solid wood construction, dovetail drawer joints, etc.

Some I built myself like a bookcase, china cabinet, buffet, dining room table, queen size bed frame, entertainment centers, computer desks and outdoor stuff like chairs and swings.

Things like sofas and chairs come from local furniture stores bought new. And I do have a couple pieces handed down from family members that have passed on.

Well I'm in N. Alabama so it's probably not much help...but all our stuff came from Story and Lee up in Leoma, TN.

The stories about North Carolina being the furniture capital of the US are legit. Our Kincaide furniture and wife's Hooker jewelry box all originated in NC.
