Olindes was our go to. They are being bought by Ashley's parent company.

If you need a bunch or quality furniture it is better to order from North Carolina. There are a number of places that will ship. I ordered a bedroom set, after I found what I wanted in town and they shipped it to me for about 66% of what the local place wanted.

Just(at lunch) bought couch, love seat, breakfast table, chairs, recliner and accent from Furniture Gallery in Ellic. Very pleased.

The entire state is the furniture capital of the US. There are a number of furniture dealers that sell from them for much cheaper. If you know the brand of the furniture you are looking for, start doing some online searches for dealers in North Carolina and you will get lots of info/ options.

Don’t buy furniture all at once. Buy quality. I go to Scott Antique market in ATL. It’s once a month. Also I’ll keep an eye out of Facebook Marketplace for quality chairs/couches for 1/3rd retail price. Stuff like a pottery barn leather club chair is normally $2k but people sell lightly used ones for $500

Local place that designs it and custom orders it. It's not that much more than the big box furniture places and the quality isn't even comparable.
If we're talking couches and chairs. Wife hits antique stores for tables and accent pieces and whatnot.

Our local stores sell a lot of Ashley, Bassett, Hooker, etc. so if I find those pieces, I try to go through the local store instead of the brand store whenever possible.
We have Havertys here (a chain so maybe they're in your area?) that I like because of their wide selection. Sometimes I feel like the only person that's not decorating in shabby chic farmhouse whitewashed stuff.
Wayfair has some quality stuff, but definitely scour through the reviews. Their customer service and return policy make it a decent experience.
I have good luck finding accent pieces from Pier 1 and Kirkland's. And even sometimes TJ Maxx/Home Goods.
ETA: I'm very fickle when it comes to decorating, so having stuff that will last for the next century is not my #1 priority. I'm not saying the above is all disposable crap, but I'm not collecting pieces to hand down to the next generation either.

Hickory, NC used to have good stuff. They still have a Mitchell Gold outlet that you can pick up some solid pieces from. Your best bet is High Point, NC.

I got some really nice, unused B&Y stuff off of Craigslist. Sofa + recliner originally were around $10k total. I got them for $1200
