Looking to put down some zoysia in some shady spots where centipede grows sparse. What’s the optimal time to install? Best source in BR? Probably just a pallet or so.

After the last chance of a freeze. Spring and fall are the best. Warm days and cool nights.

What kind of zoysia do you plan to go with? I have Empire and Geo. I find that Empire doesn’t do so well in shady spots despite the claims.

You can install sod year round. It will be dormant in the winter. As long as you keep water on it, it will wake up and root once ground temps rise.

We install 150-200 pallets per week. It’s primarily centipede, but zoysia sod works in the same manner.
