What kills Virginia buttonweed in cool season grass? (Fescue/KBG)

Portion of my yard that is shaded and has cool season grass is now overrun with Virginia buttonweed after several weeks of rain.

Weed Free Zone is the best option but will take multiple rounds and supposedly works best at certain times.
In addition, MSM, Certainty, Celsius... but all require multiple applications and some may only kill a certain percent.

I've tried Celsius, MSM, regular stuff from the store, and nothing kills it in my front yard. Last weekend I said "frick it" and sprayed glyphosate on it and I'm going to resod over those areas after it fully dies. I'm so fricking tired of fighting buttonweed in my front lawn. It's been a 7 year battle.
In fact, I hit it with celsius 3 times since March and each time it came back stronger like it was getting off on me punishing it.

I've found I can rip it out when it's not everywhere. Roots come out fairly easily in my soil.
But right now I have a 20x20 ft portion of lawn that looks like a buttonweed lawn. Heavy rain the last few weeks has just fueled it I guess.

People keep telling me to pull it out and I've done so in the past but it comes back because more roots exist under the ground from what I understand.

I've killed almost all of mine with a mix of MSM Turf and 24D.

I’ve been spraying Celsius at the high rate since spring. It smokes it. But it keeps coming back, albeit diminished. It spreads through seeds, underground rhizomes, and tiny stem or root pieces thrown from the lawn mower. I’m hoping eventually I’ll get it under control. But it is incredibly hard to get rid of.
