Major parts have a minimum 10 year warrant with all HVACs companies when registered, and if not registered revert to 5 years by default. Labor is usually 1 year, but some firms will offer 2 or 3 year labor warranty, and others a 10 year labor warranty - my changeout install 2 weeks ago came with a 10 year labor warranty, and of course 10 year parts.

Wonder how you fell through the cracks - something wasn’t right.

Didn’t realize we had to register it after purchase to keep the extended warranty so it reverted back to the original, which on that specific piece of shite is only 3 years.

Reputable HVAC companies register the equipment with the manufacturer for you - I got my manufacturer registration papers within a week from the company that installed mine.

Yep, really got fricked on the deal. By the installer and then Trane telling us to get fricked.
