What do you put in a fiberglass kettle pot to control algae?

I thought bleach would do, but was told it would screw up the fiberglass. Bull shite or truth?

you can buy stuff from lowes in pond fountain area...a few drops every few weeks..

No fish? Lots of things kill algae. Copper will kill algae and can be used with fish.
If you like colors, blue dye will control algae.
