Any preference on which one to plant and why? I believe the red navel is also cara cara orange that’s pink inside but not a blood orange. Any difference in growth in south LA weather?

i would say check the freeze tolerance each has and then decide based on where you live. dont think you can go wrong either way, its just about your climate conditions it will live in.

Have you seen the red naval orange for sale? I went to a website and they said can't be sent to LA. Also looking for a fruit tree.

Cleggs on Seigen has them if you’re in the BR area.

They have the same cold tolerance. The cara cara orange is a mutant from a normal Washington navel. Have a cara cara in my front yard in zone 9a. 3 year old tree planted from a pot this February. You will have to cover it and provide a heat source for hard freezes until it gets large enough to survive them.

I’ve had great success with Washington Navel in both St Charles and EBR Parishes.
