Not sure what kind of grass you have but I have Bermuda. Spraying the entire yard for VBW and Dollar weed with 2-4-D does it for me.

I definitely think the rain this year vs last year has been the issue.

I want to spray mine, but feel like I can’t even get a solid 12 hours without rain falling …VBW loves rain and moisture.

This. We've had an unusually wet stretch in July. We had 11 of 12 days of rain. 15 inches in total for the month.

I've encountered a lot more weed problems with the excess moisture and inability to mow the lawn at proper intervals.

I thought it was just me. Is everyone having these same issues?

I've noticed more dove weed and spurge more than anything whereas a few weeks ago, there was none to be found.

I have VBW, and easily keep it at bay by pulling when I see it. I oddly enjoy doing that.

I also have dove weed since the constant rain these past few weeks. My pre emergent doesn’t stop it, but I know how difficult it is to control once it gets going so I pulled by hand as soon as it saw it during that rainfall. Easy to pull when it’s wet, very difficult if you let it establish itself and the ground is not saturated.

Haha I learned this as well.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one -- I thought to myself, WTF IS GOING ON??!?

Yes I also find it oddly satisfying to pull that stuff up...lol.

I just sprayed Fertilome Weed Free Zone on it and it will kill it or discolor it enough to where you can see it easier in lawn and then get to pulling.

Let us know how that goes with highs approaching 100 this week. Seriously, I'm curious. I think WFZ is rated for 85 or below.
Perhaps you can get away with spraying at 6:30 AM, but I'd love to know.

you never win, the game just goes on forever......

I spot spray and pull patches when I have time.....full yard treatment hasn't worked for me at all.

I sprayed Monday evening around 6:30 pm. Temp was in the 80s and cooling down before dark. So far grass is still green and weeds are dying. Been keeping an eye on it though.
