I just switched my homeowners insurance and the new company is requiring me to have some trees trimmed. Does anyone have the name of a reputable licensed and insured tree service they recommend? I would like to get 2 or 3 quotes. I’m in Baton Rouge. Thanks in advance.

Gotta at least let this guy quote it for the name alone.

I would recommend checking all contractors out on Yelp. I have found that to be a pretty dependable source of information.

Good call. Tree guys quotes are wild guesses. I had prices from $1500 to $15,000.

Be sure to get a complete understanding of the work to be done (I.e. are they gonna chip limbs, haul off, stack on the curb, etc.). Also be very clear on where they will drive trucks/trailers and also if they are going to rake afterwards.

I find that most people that are unhappy, simply weren’t clear on what they were quoted.

How did it go? Did you get two estimates?

I did get 2 estimates. Both were very reasonable I thought. One was $1,100 and the other $1,500. Liked both guys. Thanks for the advice.

Mr.D's took a big tree down for me and went the extra mile not to damage a tree next to it I wanted to save. Very professional.

This is my only experience with taking a tree down that I couldn't handle but this happened two weeks ago. I had a dead tree on backside of my property away from anything. I just wanted it cut down in a certain direction and cut into moveable pieces before I put a fence back there. It cost 300. Found some guy in FB.
