Bluetooth is only going to be helpful with the cordless tools.

Otherwise, with corded tools, any vac with “auto tool” function will work… festool, mirka, Bosch, and a slew of others- it’s not proprietary to festool

I have a festool CT15 that has that feature and it’s very nice to have.

You can also get the bluetooth "remote" so that you can disconnect the hose from the tool and quickly vacuum an area. You don't have to walk back to the vac to turn it on. Just have the on button strapped to the end of the hose. That is all I use it for on my CT Midi.

All my tools are corded though. Just plugged into the vacuum to trigger it on when the tool is on. Doesn't matter if it's a Festool saw. I highly recommend the vacuum systems set up with the automatic turn on feature. Or you can buy the box to convert one.

The track saw is great on it's own. But I pulled out the circular saw for the first time in a long time to break down some rough lumber. The amount of sawdust created in a few crosscuts was more than my track saw left on my floor in the last year.

Don't even need a vac like that. I use smart plugs with my shop-vac, does the same function.

I've got the makita cordless model and 3-55 rails and a set of connectors for making a 110 rail. It cut through 1-1/8 AdvanTech as fast as I could push the saw and seems to have as much torque as a worm drive saw.
Milwaukee just came out with one but I don't know much about it.

I went cheapish and bought a Wen tracksaw and then bought the makita tracks in 118" 55" and 39"(?). Dont know how I ever did without them. The wen is ok but am on my second one after the armature burned up in the first from pushing it too hard. I bought the 118" track because I wanted it seemless. Though it does have a 1/32" bow in it which I feel is not ideal but acceptable over 118". The Wen saw uses the same tracks as makita if you didn't already figure it out. Bought a Oshlun SBFT-160048 blade for it since the factory is obviously not great.

So I’m looking at the Festool track saws. The TS-55 uses 6 1/4” blade and the TS-60 uses 6 5/8” blade. Are these diameters foreign or proprietary to festool?
I don’t see blades in those diameters on Lowes. I may rather not get into a situation where I have to get blades from festool.

There are non-Festool blades available, but its not a standard circular saw blade. But I think a lot of them are that way. For a 700 dollar saw, it's not crazy to spend a little more on a good blade every few years. You can always have them sharpened in between.

Track saws generally don't use 7-1/4" blades, my Dewalt takes a particular 6-1/2" blade with a 20mm arbor. Bought an OEM replacement blade as a spare for $40 when I got the saw, I've trimmed several old doors and cut lots of butcher block for countertops with original blade and it's showing no signs of getting dull yet.

I ordered the Festool ts 55 today. My first dive into the festool line up.
