It won’t crank. I’ve switched fuel, solenoid and battery crank wires. Still won’t turn over and I’ve noticed the wire from the starter to the solenoid and also the the wire from battery to solenoid is extremely hot after a couple of crank attempts.
Any suggestions? Thanks guys

Is the starter locked up? Have you tried rotating it with a screwdriver or prybar?
If there is current getting to the starter, it should turn if it is functional.

Take the spark plugs out & see if the engine turns over when cranking. If the carb needle and seat leaks the engine cylinders fill w gas & engine will hydro lock. You can also pull the oil dip stick. If the dip stick shows past full & the oil smells like gas. The engine is full of gas.

Without the spark plug…engine fired
No gas in the oil

Put spark plugs back in & see if it will crank. If it doesn't. I would take the spark plugs out again. Remove the valve covers, spin engine by hand or with a wrench. Watch the valves when turning the engine by hand to make sure all the valves are going up and down as they should. If they are going up & down like they should. Check the gaps on the valves to see if they are in spec. Youtube a video for your engine how to check & adjust valve gap settings.
If you don't have a feeler gauge. The aluminum from a beer can is about the same thickness as the thickness needed to set the valve gap on a small engine.

Not saying this is the problem but a possibility.....
Remove gas cap and see if it starts
If it starts problem solved by buying new cap

I had this issue, thought it was the battery, brought battery to store to get another one, got it tested, said the battery was good still. Bought a new solenoid, installed, still didnt work. Bought a new battery and it started.....
Glad you figured it out.
