Seems way too early for this to happen right now. Should I be concerned? Might this have a lot to do with current climate?

Baton Rouge

I could just be overreacting. Again, I want to say we normally don't experience this until sometime mid to late September.

This week I noticed all of the cypress trees around Ascension Parish and BR are starting to turn brown/red from the bottom up. I've also noticed all of the magnolias turning brown. It feels early but maybe I'm just paying more attention watching the lawns all turn brown.

If this heat can kill a chicken tree then it is really bad or we’ve finally found the solution.

You should be happy, maybe it’s dying.

This thing probably saves my electric bill by $100/month in the summer.

Tree's defense mechanism. Just trying to stay alive.

I exaggerate. We've got around 20+ trees surrounding our property, with at least 3 over the house completely at a minimum of 40' tall.

As pretty as the tree can be, it's the only sycamore and I have mentioned in previous posts that it has completely destroyed part of my driveway. I would like for insurance to take care of it or the tree to safely come down away from my property so I can get a new driveway, but I also enjoy having a ton of shade throughout the hot times of the year.

You need to kill those things; birds carry the seeds all around. They are invasive as hell.
