String Trimmer tip

Granted I'm not always in the know but I've discovered a pretty neat hack using my string trimmer. I faithfully now use WD40 spray in the 2 eyelets where the line feeds in and out. This has made using the equipment easier as well as feeding the line in when respooling. Give it a shot!

I will. Thanks.

Another one I saw was instead of using trimmer line, which can be costly, is using zip ties around the drum.

You're also supposed to soak the trimmer line in water for 24 hours

That's what I do, also use silicone spray instead of WD40.

Silicone spray is highly under appreciated. That and Wd 40 have different water resistant ratings, but both should be in the home.

Just started using white lithium spray on the steering gear of my lawnmower and good lord what a night and day difference. Never thought to try it on the string trimmer heads, but maybe now I’ll try it

What does soaking do?
Hydrates the string. Makes is less brittle
