Is the Speed Queen still the recommended washer of TD? Who around Lafayette sells them?

Richard Hebert is the best appliance place I have ever dealt with. They are also an authorized servicer for SPeed Queen I believe.

When my 30 year old Maytag pair finally give up the ghost I am buying a speed queen set from them.

I'll probably go TR7 on the washer and DR7 for dryer. Last time I priced them the difference was small enough to make the extra 2 years of warranty worth it.

1.5 plus you get to enjoy all the warranty repairs and down time with the POS Whirlpool/Maytag.
shite customer service and shite product.
Buy Speed Queen and be done with it.

Personal experience.
I have a POS Maytag sitting in my garage now for over a year, and I can't get somebody to buy it for $100. It has probably washed 30-40 loads, if that many.
Broke down less than 3 months after I got it, and took over 3 months and 2 transmission replacements to fix it. Transmission is plastic garbage. First one stripped. Replacement that was backordered for 2 months stripped while repair guy was calibrating it after replacement. Waited another month for the 2nd replacement to show up.
I called customer service and explained that I just wanted to return it, and even offered to take 50-75% refund of the purchase price just to get rid of it. They said I couldn't return it for a refund after 30 days.

Whirlpool/Maytag offered to extend my warranty a whole whopping 6 months!!! I told them to shove it up their arse, and I will never buy anything else made by Whirlpool.

Pay the extra $$$ and get a quality appliance with an actual warranty.

These threads make me happy. I've been screaming speed queen for a decade plus now.
Though I need more people to buy Samsung. They are cheap, break a lot and are easy to work on.
So buy Samsung. Don't buy frigidaire. They dont break as often and are hard to work on. .
