I changed the battery on all mine because it was beeping plus it’s hardwired

I replaced put new batteries in there It still keeps beeping and I pulled the battery out and just did the hardwire and it beeps the same. Any suggestions of what’s wrong with this? FYI they are seven years old.

7 is a bit early for them to die, but not crazy. Is it just one? If so I would replace it. Mine did it all at once at the last house, had to change them all.

Try blowing it out with some compressed air to see if that helps. If not, then like already posted, it's likely bad and change it out.

I had that happen to one of mine…of course, it was at 3 AM. I ultimately i\disconnected it to get me through the night and replaced it the next day.

The extent of my smoke alarm knowledge and past experience is that battery always goes out around 2am and will beep incessantly every 20 seconds at a frequency that is impossible for an adult human to ignore. A kid on the other hand is impervious to that noise and can quite easily function with it. Also it is usually placed in a ceiling location that will require the skills of expert rock climber or a JLG lift to get to.

Thats all I got on those infernal things.

Smoke alarms have an expiration, you may need to replace the entire alarm.

Always replace with like kind, same brand and model. You can leave the base mounted, put in the battery, plug in the electrical, snap back in place. Always try to use Eveready batteries.

Forgot to mention, this is what I did when it came time to replace.

Built my house in 2017 and the exact thing happened. This is the 2nd time - crazy beeping, jumping out of bed at 3 AM both times. As I'm, 10' up in the air trying to change the battery - still beeping. I can hear my 2 dogs whining from bedroom, as in "hey can you hurry it up in there" ..ended up unplugging 3 of them.

Many newer homes, you wire with a black, white, red and ground. The extra wire ties all the other alarms in together. If one goes off, they all do.
