Satsuma - normal to lose leaves?

I covered my freshly planted(Octoberish) Satsuma for the three nights that were so cold, and now the leaves are turning yellow and falling. Is this expected? Is it going to die?

Scratch the bark. If it’s still green, it’s alive and will regrow the leaves when it warms up.
My Persian lime tree is doing the same. My meyer lemon did the same thing last winter and is alive and well.

I didn’t cover mine and this is happening to all of my 6 trees. If the bark is still green, we should be ok baw.

I kinda figured it would be too soon on the green bark. I will continue to scratch it to see if it has a vibrant core.

Time will tell.
Don't get aggressive with pruning just yet.

Didn't cover mine and they lost every single leaf. Happens every freeze. I cut they dead branches off and it comes back every year.

Looks to be new green shoots or something coming off the main trunk above the graft, but zero activity on the branches. Will this be a salvageable tree?
