I think our salt cell is going out. There are some decent priced ones on Amazon. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for one they have purchased that isn’t name brand but lasted a decent amount of time.

The OEM replacement options are around $1,100.00 (HAYWARD in my case), with a warranty that is 3 years, however, after the 2nd year the warranty is 60/40. I am currently replacing my T15 with a cheaper version ($350), and expect it to last a year with regular cleaning. I have had the cheaper versions last longer, some shorter than a year, and the current cheap version I am replacing lasted 9 months. The company that sold the current one I have has closed shop, so not able to honor the warranty, but it was $350. It's a scaleable thing, so your MMV. I will say that if this next "cheaper" version craps out before a year's use, I will opt for the HAYWARD and spend the money.
Word of advice, keep your old, non working cell, because inevitably you will have to replace or repair the salt cell and will need a unit to keep inline to continue pool filtration.

I do not recall the brand, but I tried an off-brand version a few years ago of my Hayward T 15 and it did not last year, maybe not even 6 months.
Very good advice on keeping 1 around after it breaks. if you need to test 1, Plumb in the broken one, but keep the one to be tested wired in, submerge it in a bucket of pool water just enough to cover the plates, and turn on your pump. If operational, Clorine bubbles will immediately form in your bucket

Just bite the bullet and get the Hayward.

Bought one of the cheaper options on Amazon and it didn't make it a year. Just like a couple others in this thread. Bite the bullet and pay for the Heyward.

you can see the user chlorinatorpro who deals in replacement cells talks about whats happening in the market and the rash of counterfeit cells that arent going to last being pushed out into the market. he claims these are 60 day cells
