replacing telephone jack with coaxial from wall to attic

To make a long story short, we are making the guest room a bedroom for our child and currently have the coax jack in that room, which runs the internet for our Cox modem. I want to switch it over to our hallway which has an old phone jack that I can swap with a coax jack as long as I can somehow get the coax to it. What would be the best practice for this? Feed from the bottom up or feed from top down? Any particular tools that I can use or just feed the cable as I go and just reach for it? The room above the desired location is our crawl space near where the soffitt vents are, as it is the interior side of the front of our house.
Not sure if this would be a Tech Board question but I'm sure H&G can figure it out too.

I always ran from the attic down the wall. Cut out the space (or expand as necessary) for the box, then do the 2 finger grab until I found it. I had troubles pulling it up and getting the coax or cat-5/6 head to line up perfectly with the hole in the attic.

T Mobile home internet. Probably a bunch cheaper too. Plug it in, set up name & password and you’re pretty much done. Use the same name & password you already use and you likely won’t even have to reset all your connected devices.

Do you think you could just tie (or tape) the telephone to the coaxial and pull the telephone wire up from the attic?
ETA: another option would be to purchase a “wire fish rod”. They are inexpensive at harbor freight, wal mart, etc.

This is actually pretty smart. I'm going to see if I can locate the wires in the attic and do just that.

Remove the coax plate and see what you’re dealing with first. If there is a mostly closed junction box already there, that may limit your options without some dremel work. Usually top to bottom is easier because less pulling but that isn’t always an option unless you do a back-forth type pull with some string and a helper.

it's most likely stapled to the stud. Don't forget about fire blocking, especially if you have over 8-ft ceilings. hopefully the cable is loose for you. You could always just get a different Internet provider and have them put the box somewhere else.

Done this many times. This is about as easy as it gets if that’s already there. Pull the jack and unhook it from the phone wire. Attach your coax with electrical tape to the phone line and pull it up from the attic through the wall.

So i just tried this. Looks like the phone wire was fit through a hole that was drilled just wide enough for the phone lines. I will see if I can go back up and look on a less busy day to make a bigger hole. The area I would need to access is on the very end of the roof pitch before the soffitt vents and I'm blocked by some ductwork
Worse case scenario I just drill out a hole for me to fit a drill and a larger bit by taking out a piece of drywall and patching it back up.
