Any update?

I just purchased the combo this week. I know we are about to enter dormancy, but I want to head in to winter with some progress.

I bought some Fusilade II recently. I plan on buying the Recognition sometime over the winter whenever I can make a trip to Site One in BR. Planning to try this stuff out next spring. My St Aug sod really took off this year but the common bermuda found its way in before the St Aug could really fill in.

Likewise, my SA has looked great, but I have several areas of invading common Bermuda. With it as warm as it is, I'm hoping to apply tomorrow and see some results before dormancy.

Bump

Ready for war this spring. Finally bought some and will update the results. I’ll probably wait a few more weeks to spray.

I never posted an update, but the recognition/fusillade combo worked awesome last summer. Smoked the Bermuda, and my St Aug wasn't bothered at all.

100% win.

Did you have to do more than one application?

Just the one. I'll be keeping an eye out this spring to see if I missed any (I probably did). What I sprayed though is not greening up and I'm about to do some St. Aug Plugs in those areas

Here’s my starting point. I had completely nuked this corner of my front yard last year to add some dirt because it was horribly un level, holding water in big low spots, etc. filled it in with some sod but I had checkered it just hoping for it to fill in. Well the St Aug spread a god bit last year but it also filled in with bermuda. And now weeds.

Sprayed the Recognition, Fusillade, surfactant combo yesterday evening since it was a mild and calm evening. Also added some Greene Effect as suggested by Mr LCN. I just sprayed this one section of the yard where I added the sod last year. It’s about a 32’ x 32’ section, just over 1k sq ft. 1 gallon just made it.

Here’s some before photos:

Will update the progress in a few weeks when I hopefully start seeing the results.

ETA: Also, it may not look like it but it has been about a week since I mowed the lawn. Will wait to mow until next weekend.

I’m about to hit a few sections myself. Much less than last year. Only had to do 2 apps one spring and one fall and it works

The Bermuda will start to turn purple around day 10-12

Awesome. It’s already looking a little stressed. So are the broadleaves and nutsedge . So far the St Aug looks unfazed but I’m sure it’ll show some stress, too.

I plan to mow close to the weekend and then hit it with the Greene Effect again. Then I’ll probably fertilize with some 24-0-6 a week after that.

11 days in. Working well. The St Augustine is showing a tiny bit of stress but it is still looking nice and green!

Atrazine will kill the Bermuda and not damage the St. Aug

That has not been my experience. I've used Atrazine in my yard for years and at most it stunts the Bermuda temporarily. But then it seems to come back stronger.
