I have a decent amount to weedeat and have been really impressed with my ryobi 18v. It's super light and easy to use. Esp if you get a 4 or 5 amp battery.

I can't say i have the same good things to say about the ryobi 18v, but i don't have the 4 or 5 amp battery. I felt like the weed eater is under powered. I bought the combo weed eater and blower set. The blower is ok, but I'm about to upgrade to a backpack blower my dad gave me.

I'm a fan of everything else ryobi though as they're cheap and I've had good experiences with the rest.

Lowe’s has a bunch on clearance. Saw a few that were 30-50 dollars off.

Small gas engines are a PITA

I used to think that.
Then i quite buying walmart shitty weed eaters and blowers.
I've had my echo weed eater and a echo blower going on 10 years now. Only put non-ethanol gas/oil mix in it. They both start on the 2nd pull, every single time.

That being said, you can't go wrong with Ryobi or Ego in the battery powered lawn equipment products.

Never owned one of those in my life. Honda mower, tiller, outboard. First crank.
But gas trimmer is too effing heavy, awkwardly balanced, and high vibration for my hands/arms. My 85 y o mother does her own edging w a cordless electric trimmer, so I figure I can handle that. Quiet, doesn’t stink, no bothering w gas.

Thanks to all who provided recs, I’m off to the big boxes to make a purchase.

I am into my 2nd summer with the Ryobi 40v weedeater and the edger attachments. It takes about 45 minutes to do it all. It is well worth the money.

I just had my motorized Ryobi powerhead go out. I am thinking of getting one of the electric heads. I am assuming the expand-it attachments compatible with both heads?

I have the dewalt 20v weedwacker and I love it. Use it for edging after cutting the grass and never have issues with power or battery life. I take it into the neighborhood culvert to knock down the weeds and it’s a champ in the high grass/weeds. Battery will run out after about 20 of non-stop use in the thick stuff

I bought the Ryobi 40v trimmer and blower. The only complaint is to use the right string otherwise it won't bump and release as well as it should.

Ryobi 18v works great for me. Yard is almost an acre. Make sure you have 2 batteries. I don't know how much it weighs but it's not much.

So based on this thread everyone uses something different and everyone likes theirs.

I’ve never had one but looking into the black and decker 40v one (do I need 40v?). Also the worx and the green works.

I ended up buying the DeWalt. It hasn’t arrived yet, so I can’t offer an initial review.
