We’ve been noticing them. Wife bought a light trap to put in the kitchen but we’re still seeing some here and there. Any recs on fully getting rid of them?

Nats or fruit flies?
I'm betting fruit flies. I've never had gnats in the house but do get the occasional fruit fly invasion, especially if overripe fruit is around---mostly bananas. My wife will sometimes leave a little wine in a glass and that attracts them too.
Don't leave dirty dishes in the sink and watch for them in the drain hole. Pour some bleach down the sink drain or get one of those fine mesh drain screens that catches small food particles, keep it clean so the fruit flies have nothing to live on and the screen also stops them from getting down into the drain.

If you have fruit out on the counter, that is where they are coming from…particularly bananas. Put fruit in the fridge as soon as itt gets ripe and they will be gone in a couple of days (their lifespan is very short).
Otherwise, they are probably coming from some houseplants. To cure that, just give each houseplant a burst of Bengal roach spray to the soil in the pot.

They are attracted to something that you have out. Potatoes, fruit, etc…
They are probably coming from your drain. I pour boiling water down the drain every now and then. Kills them and the eggs.

We have an outbreak once a year or so of what I think are fungus gnats. I put out a few shallow bowls of a mix of water, apple cider vinegar, and a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid. They are drawn to the sweet smell of the vinegar, and when they land the soap won't let them stay on top of the water. Sink and drown. You'll see the little black specks in the bowls as you collect them. Put near houseplants if that is the suspected source.
Here is an AI overview of different critters mentioned in this thread.
Drain flies, fruit flies, and fungus gnats are different types of flying insects that can be found in kitchens and bathrooms:
Drain flies
These flies have a fuzzy, moth-like appearance and are smaller than fruit flies. They are light gray or tan in color, with darker borders around their wings. Drain flies breed in drains and moist areas, and are attracted to standing water. They can be a sign of a broken or clogged pipe.
Fruit flies
These flies are similar in shape to house flies, but are much smaller. They are attracted to rotting food, overripe fruit, sugary juices, and alcohol. Fruit flies can spread diseases through contaminated food.
Fungus gnats
These flies are about the same size as fruit flies, but have a mosquito-like body shape. They are brown or black in color with black eyes and light-colored legs. Fungus gnats prefer moist material to deposit their eggs, and can be found around plants or flying from room to room. They can damage plant roots

Spray some raid or something similar down your kitchen drains and let sit.

Yep. We keep bananas in a bowl on the counter. Thanks for the info!

If you have brought plants in from outside, they are probably coming from there.
