Bayoubengals88 posted a pic of his good looking St. Aug grass last night and got me thinking while cutting today to get a running thread of our lawns. Thought we might also be able to make it a maintenance schedule/discussion thread.

Front yard is centipede. My backyard is St.Aug. Maintenance schedule for centipede is fertilize with milorganite in May and I use Celsius for post emergent herbicide. I fertilize my St. Aug with Lesco 24-2-11 in May and I think I'm due for another in July. I cut both my St. Aug and centipede at 4 inches.

Bonus pic - I have two sprayers in my garage. One with Celsius and the other with Round Up. Early spring i grabbed the wrong sprayer and sprayed a ton of my front yard with Round Up. Won’t ever do that again. Also, excuse the fog filter from my cracked cell phone camera.

I like my front. My back is a less thick and a have a patch of centipede growing in it. It gets more shade. So might have been better with a different grass in the back. But areas to work on.

Mostly trying to follow the Bermuda Bible in regards to fertilizer schedule with Celsius+sedgehammer for post emergents. Nutsedge is my main weed. I have spots is dallasgrass on the borders.

Nice looking front yard. I have some nutsedge in spots along my fence. I bought a few squares of sod from home depot to patch some spots in my back yard and it was filled with nutsedge seeds I guess.

Excuse the mess with all the rain it was 7 days since I cut. I usually cut every 5 days. When it’s dry I bag every other cut.

Half the time I pray for rain, half the time I pray it doesn't rain.

When cutting your lawns do you cut in the same pattern/direction every time you cut?

I’ll have my butler ask my horticulturist...

Wrong thread!

The only thing I keep to schedule is TopChoice when agapanthus blooms, and Ronstar when redbuds bloom. I scout/sample and treat accordingly.
