I’d spend some time on YouTube.

Did that. A lot. Grafts are done. Now we wait.

I planted a native persimmon sapling in BTR 3 years ago about this time of year. Each year it has developed a bad fungus infection of the leaves and looked awful. Last year I started spraying with a copper fungicide. It's leafing out quite densely right now, best it's ever looked. Main advice is... don't give up too soon.

Three weeks tomorrow. The best is pictured below(Rosseyanka). I have some confidence in one of the Nakita's gift grafts and pretty low confidence in all others.

I had given up on the graft to the right with the pink marker. Suddenly showing life. I read to be patient, but that's a big gap in time from the one on the left.

Thanks. If I did, it was only because there are so many great resources out there. No telling how many hours of video I watched before it was time. A little disappointed that none of my whip/tongue grafts took, but those bark grafts on the main leaders were priority 1 anyway. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I have at least one of Rosseyanka and Nikita's Gift growing. I planted a Valeene Beauty too. I sure hope we like persimmons

The toughest part if you have one of each variety in the same barkgraft is picking which one to keep.

If they both keep doing well, next spring you can graft the loser onto the winner so that you get to keep both

I am so happy you had success.

I am going to need help with this part. So far, it's the cloudiest part of my research. I didn't expect all 4 of those Rosseyanka buds to grow. I assume I will need to eliminate some.

You also need to raise your bird perch stick higher

Seven week update. I just removed three branches as I know I had too many growing. May still have to remove more. I braced the scions with the most growth with bamboo and have been checking the tension as these suckers get fat fast. I moved away from zip ties as I was afraid of girdling. The Nikita's gift is already flowing, so I removed the ones I could see.
