Nothing but loud noise all day

I'm in N.O. and they are tearing up the street in front my house-----actually, the other side of the street since they tore my side up months ago.
They put down a thick layer of small gravel/sand mix, then 2 layers of blacktop as a base before finishing the whole street from curb to curb when they finish the work they started today.
Can't hear anything but the big jackhammer attachment on a 420F Cat busting up the old street surface and an excavator loading the debris into dump trucks.
To make matters worse, my A-Phase electric power coming from the pole is not attached at the pole and there is no A/C since I only have 120 coming into the house right now and my windows are open to try to get SOME airflow.
Been a miserable 2 days so far and don't know where on the list of work orders my fix is, so it's sit, swelter and wait.
Sorry, just venting. At least I have a couple box fans to move some of this 85 degree air in my house.

Got 2 tents, got lots of beer and ice, but it's still way too hot to camp out.
If it was next week when some cooler weather is expected t arrive, I'd be out of here already.

I can't imagine complaining about anyone fixing a street in NOLA.

I'm not complaining "That" they're fixing it, just the amount of time it's taking them to do it.
This has been going on since the end of March and they are only about 1/2 way through just on my block alone.
They work like bats out of hell for 5-6 days then disappear for weeks on end with work less than half done more often than not.

Good luck. If it extends past Wednesday, it won't be too bad.

They just left after reattaching the power at the pole from the line that broke and all is well. The A/C is now trying to cool down the house after 6 days of being off, so it will take a while with all surfaces likely in the mid 80 degree range.
Plus the water heater is electric, so no more cold showers, not that they were so bad with no A/C at the time, but the wife will appreciate a hot shower at last.
