I was wondering if any of you have seen the wild muscadines fruit yet in North Louisiana. If it's not time yet, when do they usually start producing fruit?

I have countless muscadine vines behind the house and in the hundred or so acres right behind me, but I haven't seen any fruit yet. Thanks!

You should have some green berries by now. I picked a purple one last night in SWLA. Some vines don't produce.

I’m in south Louisiana, but most wild muscadines have male flowers and will never fruit.

Not wild but our Pineapple muscadine is ripe in August.

Good to know. There were muscadine grapes on the ground last year in the woods behind me, but I just don’t remember when. I don’t see any sign of them growing yet on those same vines.

should be decent sized green ones if they are producing vines. Seems like the majority of vines around here don't produce though. Just a few here and there that make.

I just started picking a few in south Louisiana today so you should definitely see some on the vines if they produce.

On my morning run I looked a little harder. I found a few vines that are producing right now. I’ll check behind the house this weekend.
