How many clutches will a pair have in the spring? I have two that have been homesteading a cypress post outside our front door that are on clutch #2. Chicks should be done on a couple more days and I am going to remove their nest.

I believe they mate 2-3 times a year.

After hatching, they can have another set of eggs within 3-5 weeks. They're constantly looking for places to build nests around my home.

I've had one for 4 years now. They don't bother me. just cooing in the morning which is not a pain for me. she just had 2 babies and they are flying so they will leave soon and be back.

I had a pair lay 2 clutches. The 1st didn’t hatch or something got them. A lot of birds will get eggs or babies. 2nd time, they made it. It was cool to watch how dedicated the parents were. As they grew, the parents would leave the next and come back intermittently and often you’d see one sitting at a distance, but watching. Then back on next for the night. I watched but ignored so as to not upset. It was stressful bc I was afraid if they hit the ground as I read they do when fledging, my dogs would get them. So I checked bf letting them out and never saw one on the ground.
Reddit has a Dumb Dove Nest subreddit, something like that. It was funny, doves lay down a twig and call it “nest.” My dove did good, though. I hope she returns.

I had left an old garbage can out in the side yard for a couple years and the other week I was cleaning up and decided to finally get rid of it…dumped it out and out came a nest full of eggs
I was pissed I didn’t look first and worried I had just destroyed a dove nest but then the Carolina wrens started barking at me and I realized it was theirs. frick those noisy sumbitches

I am suprised that you haven’t had a snake outside of your door trying to get them yet.
