I just noticed that on one side of my kitchen, I have mold forming in the bottom cabinets and drawers. Any ideas on this? Recommendations on someone to call in Lafayette?

If you are capable, remove the cabinets yourself. And then find the source of the problem. Go get you a moisture meter reader. Take plenty of pictures. And mark the "wet" spots in your sheetrock.

The cabinets can be saved with Mold Control, or resurfacing (ob replacing the back plywood).

I recently went through this. I had a gutter that was backflowing (poor installation) into my soffitt and it slowly dripped down my wall, into three rooms (kitchen, bathroom, and guest bedroom/closet).

How old are the cabinets? Are these also the cabinets underneath your sink or next to your dishwasher/fridge where the water line would be?

They are old cabinets. I only replaced the doors and re-painted when I bought the house. They are on the opposite side of the dishwasher in a galley style kitchen.

More than likely you have a water leak

Would this happen to be on an exterior facing wall of your house?

Is there a sink along that wall?

Interior wall. No plumbing. We have often remarked when we opened the cabinets we can feel warm air. Any chance that hot air and tupperware that has residual moisture could cause this?

If there is standing water and you have your air sent to 82 I think that would make sense. Can you send pics of where you are specifically finding mold?

I had an issue years ago where this shitty drop in shower/tub kit wasn't sealed properly. Water would go behind the wall, down to my pantry and come thru the top of the pantry door.

By chance do you have a water mixture above your cabinet? Also recommended to get a moisture meter and check that as well. If it's a single story, check your attic for a possible leak either in the roof or if your AC sits directly on top of it.

Sounds like you have some unconditioned air that is being sucked from somewhere….maybe your attic?

Do a little test…when your central air is running, open a door to the outside about an inch. I’ll bet you feel a stream of hot air coming in.

Here is the section. There is the living room on the other side of the wall.

Here is a pic of the door. There is also mold inside of the cabinet and some of the drawers.

I am thinking about taking everything out and killing the mold. Then make sure everything is dry when put away and see if it happens again. Thoughts?

Is your house by any chance a raised house with a crawl space under the flooring? If so, you may have a moisture issue below where the cabinets are located and that is what's causing your issues.

When was this? Could it be that you might've painted over some mold without noticing?

That may just be surface mold without an active leak (source). First thing you need to do is determine if there is a leak. If not, you can just wipe the cabinets down with an anti-microbial solution and air it out. Any chance that cabinet houses pots and pans or something that wasn't properly dried before storing? I've seen people put wet shoes or a rain coat in a closet and everything in there got moldy. I get surface mold on the cabinets in my garage from the humidity occasionally.

We have been here 4 years. The doors were brand new as I had them made to help update the kitchen.

Yes, I am pretty sure my son put tupperware in there that wasn't completely dry.

I took everything out and cleaned it with a mold killer. I threw all of the tupperware out and will be running everything else through the dishwasher.
