Man, I hate St Aug

My front yard is about 50% st aug, 25%, centipede, and 25% celebration bermuda. I spot treated VBW about 4 weeks ago using celsius at rates recommended here and from reading other forums. The centipede and bermuda yellowed for about a week. The St Aug is still showing damage and there is plenty more VBW that needs to be sprayed now. I didn't soak each area, just tapped the sprayer. Did this early one morning when it was about 72 degrees.
I think I'm going to put a couple of celebration plugs in each damaged area to speed up the takeover process.
The dark green area at the top of the pic is celebration. I put about 20 plugs there last year after centipede died from the late frost and it's taking off like a rocket.

I sprayed Celsius/Sedgehammer 3 weeks ago and it's still stunted growth in those areas and gray leaf is starting to take over so I can't even fertilize
St. Aug is such a love/hate.

Yup. I fertilized two weeks ago, parts of the yard yellowed a bit and sedge is running rampant but not much I can do until it gets stable again. My bermuda needs to speed up the takeover process.

It's so freakin' wimpy. I drove my truck into the backyard to get my boat out a couple of weeks ago and you can still see damage from it. The bermuda didn't even notice it.

I like St. Augustine grass but bermuda is trying to take over my back yard this year and I'm really kind of loving it. Hoping it keeps going to be honest and I never thought I'd say that.

I’m done with it. Absolute worst grass I’ve ever dealt with.
-Can’t treat torpedo grass, if it shows up your yard is just irredeemably f’d. Only upside is it fills in the dead spots from fungus
-Speaking of, you get to deal with annual fungus outbreaks despite proper watering, only option is preemptively applying fungicide every few weeks
-can’t deal with compaction at all, just sits there stunted and yellow even with aeration, microdosing fertilizer per specs and repeated topdressing
-any sort of hard frost knocks it way back in the spring
-And don’t let anyone walk on it or it thins and dies
I’m going to bring in Bermuda as I remediate the soil in my yard in sections.
Any thoughts on best cultivars if I prefer to keep it longer rather than golf course short?

The celebration in my backyard has been doing well at 2" cut height. The celebration in the pic I posted is cut at 2.5" since it's mixed with St Aug. It's still thick and growing horizontally. It's easy to look scalped though if you drop down even just 0.5".

Same. I broadcast sprayed Celsius/Sedgehammer at the lowest rate on 30 June. Bermuda in the back yard looks great. Parts of St. Aug in the front are clearly stunted.

Add sod web worms to your list of things that suck about St Aug. I had them as soon as temps warmed up.

Celsius, sorry thought I'd posted that in the OP. I treated with MSM in late April and had a bunch of stunting as well. The VBW barely blinks at it.

You would think that as aggressive as bermuda grass is, it would crowd out any other lawn grass without having to do a total renovation. However, you could cut your grass very short and frequently and give an advantage to the bermuda. Take it down in smaller increments at a time (1/4”?) to minimize scalp; it’ll bounce back anyway.
But it probably will still come out as a mix of both grasses.
When MSMA (not MSM) was available to homeowners, it could take out st aug in bermuda. Maybe it’s still available to professionals.
