Love my LVP from CaliBamboo. I’d Google the site and link but then every damn add would be for them (which is how I found them in the first place)
There some threads I posted about my experience and some other posters followed my advice and used them as well

how was the labor cost as a % of the materials cost?
we're doing 3700sf of hardwood so the labor cost is concerning on top of the materials.

Man it’s been awhile. I hired a handy man I knew and he knocked it out. I’ll have to look at some old files to see what he charged

This was the quote from January 2020
Was $3.79 / sq ft then had some discounts on top that
Here was my thread for the work

Thanks for sharing - and that looks good!
Yes I'm also dreading the labor / install cost along with completely rearranging / moving my home in order to get it installed.

As for return on the dollar, homebuyers will choose hardwood over anything.
Second is engineered.
LVP is never going to get appreciation from a buyer unless it’s for a rental

You can't figure based on a % of materials because just like hardwood the price for materials from least expensive to most expensive can vary a lot while labor is going to be fairly similar. If the prices are similar to around me you are looking at $4 per sq give or take for LVP or engineered hardwood labor. This can go up a fair amount depending on the floor that is currently down (I got the impression this isn't new construction).
If you are doing 3700 ft^2 of LVP/engineered I assume it is safe to say your house is at least 4000 ft^2. I personally wouldn't do LVP in a house that size it would be engineered hardwood at a minimum especially if it was a "forever" house. One thing to keep in mind for LVP and engineered hardwood is the wear layer. My next-door neighbor owns a chain of flooring stores and a few months ago he was showing me some LVP with a 4 mil wear layer and was laughing about people buying it.

In the end, LVP is still just cheap vinyl floor. It is NOT hardwood. At all. If you're going to go with terrazzo, which sounds like a nice high end option, doing the rest with LVP just seems silly to me.
We went engineered hardwood (custom salvaged pecan) as it was recommended over solid hardwood for install over cement slab. From the surface there no difference between solid hardwood and engineered, they look the same and are treated the same as far as care over the years. Get a thicker layer of hardwood in your engineered material and it will live through several refiniahings.

Good info. We were pretty much in the hardwood camp but there's so much talk about LVP I didn't want to dismiss it right away. You are correct this is hopefully our forever home but if not we want the work we do to be an asset to the house.
