Let's Discuss Grease Guns

I grew up watching my dad curse high-maintenance tools, chief among them his grease gun. As I grew up and started doing my own maintenance, I came to appreciate his frustration - fighting the plunger/spring, constant purging of air so the pump would prime, grease everywhere, etc.
No more.
There are now two (maybe more) options that eliminate this headache. One is Lube Shuttle. Made in Germany, it works off vacuum not pressure so there is no spring or plunger to fight. Downside is initial price and the grease tube is not yet a standard in the US so your options are limited.
The other option is Lock-n-Lube Easy Prime. It works off the same principle (vacuum) but uses a standard grease tube available anywhere. Only downside is price. I have this one and it works great.
I have no financial interest in either product, just hoping to share some good news with my fellow DIY mechanics.

Excellent, will check those out.
ETA: it looks like LocknLube sells direct from its website with free shipping at lower cost than Amazon.

Been toying with the idea of getting the lock-n-lube one. They also sell a “boot” for the annoying leak all grease guns produce.
Heads up for those interested the tip is much larger than a standard gun.

Bought a Graco pistol-grip years ago, never had an issue with it. Don't know who actually manufactures it for them but it primes eaily and pumps well.

Man this is a timely post. I’m literally looking to buy a new grease gun this weekend. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't use a grease gun very often but the Lock-n-Lube tip that clips on the grease fitting is great. It's adjustable and attached to a flex hose .

I refill one about 1x a year and I seem to have to watch a YouTube video each time to remind myself how. They are a pain.
