La Cornue Range

Renovating our kitchen and we are looking at La Cornue range - likely the Chateau line. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have confirmed that there is a company in my area that will service it.
Wondering how reliable they are.

We have an AGA induction range which is odd because the owners manual is for La Cornue but it describes our unit so even though AGA is Brit it seems they are related or maybe just distributed by the same parent company in the US.
Anyway, I digress but we have a service call out on ours right now for an error code being thrown by one of the induction plates.
Service is slow so no feedback on that aspect yet. A little disappointed it had an issue out of the box but other than being slow they've been very polite about fixing it.
What particular unit or cooking type are you looking at?

Yea looks like they are owned by the same company now.
We are looking at the Chateau 130 & 150.
Likely going to go with the larger model because of the oven size. Want two larger ovens and the smaller sizing has ovens that just aren't practical.

we have the cruciform knobs like some of the chateau models; looks like cheateau line is both gas with an induction surface as well? website isn't very friendly.
i do like the simplicity (not even a timer though
) and this is the best oven we've ever had, hands down. its hard to mess up anything you're cooking.
the heat settings were very cryptic at first ... there's 1,2 and 3 'warming' level suitable for everything from melting chocolate to keeping food warm without burning it. then there's 1-9 settings for heating and a 'P' setting for fast-boiling.
the oven has 8 settings; (top burner, bottom burner, top and bottom, defrost, top with convection, both with convection, keep warm...)
all that to say once we figured out what to do, we couldn't be more pleased with the way this cooks.
again, i dont know whats different w/ cornue but they litteraly slapped a little silver 'aga' sticker over the parts of the owner's manual that digressed.
strangest damn thing i've ever seen.
eta tigerbandpiccolo has had a la cornue or years but i don't think she posts much these days but if she googles her name she might see this.

quote:this is why I’m going all gas, open burners, no digital or circuit board controls. Worst that can happen is I can light it with a click lighter (I do that now on my current cooktop LOL)
but we have a service call out on ours right now for an error code being thrown by one of the induction plates.

There's something to be said for that for sure

I did and settled on blue star (48” range all gas all burners). It winds up being about 11K. There’s one on the floor at campos in Metairie if you want to have a look at it

That's a great range cgrand and a good price for a 48".
I think you're going to be thrilled. I've always been a fan of blue Star burner design.

I tried to get one but could not get it in time.
I’ll say this - women freak over these things.
If you have one, and want to sell the house, it’ll sell quicker than a house without
Just anecdotal

There was a la cornue on clearance at the local appliance shop here in Nashville and we seriously considered it.
Problem was it was gas and we have no gas line at the new house and quoted 15k by the gas company to run a line. Add a 10k range on top of that and that's just moronic to pay 25k to cook some greens.
We also considered the propane route because we have a small tank but nobody wants to send a truck to fill a 115 gallon tank so using that as our primary fuel seemed like a bad strategy.
