I have an approx 25y/o kenmore gas dryer. Model # 110.73932101 Dryer was running and suddenly stopped before the end of cycle. Now when start button is pushed I can ahear a clicking sound, but nothing happens/dryer won't run. Have tested the timer, thermal fuse, door start switch, and motor. All have proper continuity. What do I check next?

Your bank account??? It's 25 yrs. old and just may be time for a new one.

Hell, I'd be overjoyed if a dryer, or any appliance for that matter, lasted me 25 yrs.

I am happy that it lasted that long, but I know most of the time these can be fixed pretty easily and for just a little money for parts. I was hoping Napoleon would respond soon with an easy fix. I hear you though. May be time for a new one.

Do you have voltage at the motor when you start the cycle? If so, replace the motor.

If not, work you way upstream until you find voltage.

Just a clicking sound and you are 100% sure the door switvh is good?
When i have a dryer with no power to motor.
First i check
Door switch
Then
Thermal fuse.
If both ofv those are good then this is a 1/10 scenario. There are two other issues that can cause issue.
The next being the motor itself. So I'll hook the motor up to a direct power cord. If the motor runs i know it's good. You can also check winding resistance. A lot of times it's a non repplaceable over load on the motor that fails. If the motor powers on then i know my fault is in the timer. If it doesn't i replace the motor. I replace more motors then timers. But also because timers can be not worth replacing.
Though most times the timer is functioning is its just bad internal conracts. Which can be sanded, bent and made to be used again.
. Though with that dryer, at that age with a good door switch and thermal i would expect to replace motor.
Sorry not an easy quick fix. But the motors on these are cheap online.

Got it fixed. I was testing without the drum and belt attatched. Didn't realizre that the motor idler pulley had a switch to turn it off when the belt breaks. Turns out all I need is a new bet and it will work again. Even though you did not direclty help me fix the problem, it was when I went to test the motor that I realized the issue. Thanks everyone for their suggstions and help. Hope to get another 25 years out of it.

Hell, why not. Stick it to the people who make them with planned obsolescence in mind.

I didn't think machines of that vintage had belt swtches.
That's a common fail item on clear door machines. But still not in use in standard Kenmore /whirlpool metal door dryers unless Cabrio style.
