Is this overkill? Garage Electrical Wiring

I'm a bit of a wire organization nut and like my wires and runs to be pretty nice looking while practical. I have installed strip light fixtures in my garage and I was wondering if this is a bit of overkill. I could just create jumpers and run them from light fixture to light fixture which is pretty normal but I thought this would look better in the attic.
Thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you have a ceiling box installed at each of the fixture location already?
If so, then you could use this as the splice/junction box.
If not, depending on the fixture you will probably have room in the fixture to make the splice.
I think your last box all the way to the left is pointless. Just go straight into the fixture with the wire.

I’m not an electrician but I think in some areas it’s against code to have a fixture pass through more than 2-3 junction boxes.

why would you do that and not just run them in line? In addition to potentially being out of code, that's just a pain in the arse that gives you four more locations to have a problem.

agree with poster re ceiling box. that is your junction box. don't need another for each light.

In the attic?
Just run it to each fixture and be done with it. One wire run in, one out of each fixture except the last one.

K. I. S. S. principle.
use it.
use it.

dont over complicate things, you dont need junction boxes in the attic, just run a wire from switch to the first light then a jumper from that to the next light and so on. the light fixtures will serve as your junction boxes.
essentially what you drew up, only running just the wires but without the junction boxes in the attic

but I thought this would look better in the attic.
I'm OCD about a lot of things, that's definitely not one of them, and creates more connection points, which means potential problems.
