Is there such a thing as to much pre-emergent?

My yard calls for about 35# to completely cover and I have a 50# bag. Will it hurt to throw out the entire bag?

Best to follow the label directions. If the label states that 35 lbs (for your lawn size) is the max labeled rate per application I wouldn’t exceed it. You didn’t state what your using but if happens to be Dimension (dithiopyr) you might be able to use in the remainder in landscapes beds.

Yes, depending on the active ingredient it can damage your turfgrass. It can also kill landscape plants and trees.
