I had some torched by the arctic blast, replaced in the Spring and they got torched in the summer even while watering. Is it too late to replace? Or should I just wait till Spring?

According to the LSU AgCenter the best time to plant them is March and late fall.

I'll be replacing about a half dozen. I am having terrible luck with plants in general on one side of the front of my house, but not the other. Same watering zone. I have no idea what's going on.

In south LA, Nov to March is the perfect time to plant woody shrubs and trees. Prob the same for southern AR - check with your Univ of AR Cooperative Extension Service county office or their website - they’ll provide you with planting guidelines for your area.
