Inverter Generator Recommendations

Looking for opinions on the "suitcase" inverter generators. I love the Honda Quiets, but I'm curious if there are any other, cheaper brands.
The use case is for tailgating and just small needs. I have a larger generator for the hurricane/power outage needs.
I know Honda is superior to most, just curious if any other brands have caught up to the quality of them.

I've had this WEN for about 5 or 6 years now. It's been flawless. Super quiet, has the Eco mode, and also comes factory with a fuel shut-off knob out front so you can run the carb dry for storage.

I have heard great things about this from Harbor Freight:
PREDATOR 2000 Watt SUPER QUIET Inverter Generator with CO SECURE Technology
Honestly though, if you're looking to save a few hundred $$$ on something you may use 6 times a year minimum, this is a decent price for that. As with all Harbor Freight equipment you need to run them and keep them maintained in order to get full use out of them. That should be for any tool/equipment but you know.

I have the wen and the Ryobi the same size. Both have been great, the Ryobi has more features (Bluetooth) and is slightly quieter than the wen.

I've used 2000 to 4500w inverter generators a lot over the years.
My experience:
Honda: pricey but great
WEN: Agree with the posters above. Have 2 and the engines have been as reliable as Hondas. One is 3 years old; the other is around 8 years old. The only issue is that many of the bells&whistles didn't last long (auto start for ex) and a lot of the exterior plastic parts broke but both keep running like champs.
Preditor: I have had 2 of these and both of them had issues . Maybe I was just unlucky as I read good reviews here but I'll never get another one.
Westinghouse: had 2 of these as well and had numerous problems with both.

Here's a good website that breaks down each generator with pros and cons etc.
Generator Bible
Look at Yamaha. My guys use them for commercial roofing repairs. Durable, reliable, a little heavier than Honda but also a little cheaper.

If you are looking for top of the line then it's Honda.
If you just need something 5-6 times a year look at Genkins 2300 watt on Amazon. $379.
I bought one 3 years ago for backup power...haven't had to use it for that yet. I did proper break in and changed the oil and tested it to it's max. 2 window units, 2 fridge/freezers, tv, computer, lights...pretty much most of the house minus the 220 items. I had to push it pretty hard to get it to shut down.
It's quiet enough on eco mode and has a tube installed to drain the carb after use. I've been satisfied.

If just using for tailgating/small needs, I bought a yeti goal zero when I had a kid on a feeding pump to ensure we could keep that charged and running without having to run extension cords all through the house overnight.
He's since off the pump, but it's perfect for tailgating. Running just a TV it'll go 12 hours or so, obviously that goes down some if you plug in a crock pot or a fan. But I've yet to have the battery drop below 60% for my tailgate needs, and if you're running it a lot you can hook up a solar panel to charge while you use it.
