I'm off the TifTuf bandwagon

I've been a TifTuf homer for years up until now. One thing leads to another and I forget to water for a couple weeks, then again a couple weeks later. oops.
Anyway, the TifTuf is definately holding up better than the common Bermuda but isn't recovering any faster. Meanwhile, the Celebration never really stopped looking great and is throwing runners again the second the tap turns back on.
I'm sure TifTuf is the better grass under tightly managed conditions, but old school Celebration seems to be kicking its butt when things start getting messy.

The only problem with Celebration is that that bitch gets TOO thick when conditions are good.
It is true.
Celebration is tougher than TifTuf. I have both in similar areas.
Celebration has taken much more abuse as it is in the hottest area on the entire property, get's LESS sun, and is in an area that I do not water at all.
My TifTuf is patchy this year (year 2). My Celebration sprigged areas are thick and full, even in much less sun.

The TifTuf recovery time for me this year has been abysmal...even with 46-0-0. If a mole tears up a section, TifTuf ain't sending out no runners to repair it!!

Pretty much exactly the same experience here. Next to common Bermuda that is about 50% brown, the 5-10% brown TifTuf looks amazing. Yet the celebration is not only 0% brown but it also starts growing good again as soon as it gets enough water. I only have a couple small areas of celebration that I got by accident (their accident but I didn’t notice immediately, was in a hurry and wasn’t going to load it back up and drive it back).
I’d say for anyone who makes a lot of mistakes, like me, celebration is gold.

The only gripe I have with my celebration is that if I miss cutting on the 3rd day I pretty much have to reset the HOC or cut higher to keep it from looking scalped. It grows so damn fast.
you ain't lying. It'll bog my mower down if I don't cut on schedule. Even in partial sunlight it gets pretty damn thick.
