If I have crabgrass and Dallisgrass right now

Is it too late to get rid of this for the rest of the season?
Should I just cut my losses and try again next year?

I’ll start the discussion.
The time to kill weeds is when they occur. You really don’t want them to go to seed. I’d begin the control process now, but larger, mature weeds are much more difficult to control.
What type of lawn grass do you have, and are you sure of your identification of the crabgrass and Dallisgrass?
Crabgrass is an annual weed and going forward pre-emergent herbicides like Dimension or Prodiamine applied by mid-Feb (south LA) do a great job in controlling it.
Dalligrass is a perennial weed and much more problematic. Here is a good article that discusses control options. LINK

stay on top of it as soon as you see it as crawdude suggested. if you see crabgrass just starting to come up , you can control it with 2-4-D, but if it matures, good luck....

Yeah... recently bought the house so the yard situation I'm going into is unknown to me.
I think he had a combo of st Augustine and Bermuda in the yard. I think the majority of the Bermuda is spread from the golf course.
I'm completely new to it all.
I do know that there are patches of crabgrass and Dallisgrass grass as both seedpods recently popped up during all the heavy rains we had been having.

Crabgrass can be controlled with Celsius. If crabgrass is a big issue then I'd do an app of prodiamine in the late winter and an app of Dimension in the spring. Dimension is a pre/post on young crabgrass.
If you have Dallisgrass in the St Aug then dig it up, fill with dirt, and drop a piece of sod on top. If you have it in the bermuda then spray Celsius on it every month until August. In August you can apply Total Tribute (very expensive so maybe a neighbor or two want to go in on it with you). If you want to mix your own then it is a combo of Celsius, Revolver, and Sedgehammer.
I will say that just as a test I used Celsius and Sedgehammer in two week intervals and I got good results.

Posting a few photos of the weeds, and definitely, the seed heads of the weeds, to help you confirm their Identity is always a plus. Perhaps even photos of you lawn grass - and of course that’s because certain herbicides to control lawn weeds can be used on some lawn grasses but not others.
There are some lawn professionals that post here - ronk, gamecocks22, etc - that definitely can assist you provided they know exactly what you are dealing with - that’s where the photos help. And many other posters who are legitimate self taught weed control “professionals” who once were where you and had to learn all this stuff to take control of their own lawns - me included.
And if you are pretty new to this, there some herbicides that might be recommended to you by posters to use during the summer/early fall that might seem pretty pricey, like a $100 a bottle pricey, and they are, but a bottle might last 4 or 5 years for a typical residential lawn, so the annual cost, or cost per treatment is often no higher than cheaper herbicides sold elsewhere.

I'll try to snap some pics once all the rain has moved through and I start getting a little more growth from the previous mow.
The empty lot next to me is a huge issue as I know they aren't actively doing anything to prevent weeds.

I've had good luck using MSM and Trimec on Crabgrass thus far. I bought celcius for when the temp hits 85.
Was planning on giving up and nuking my lawn to lay fresh sod but all the quotes I got were in the $5k range and around $3500 for just the sod. Would be near $4000 with top soil and tilling on my own as well. I've got other areas I'd rather invest in, especially with two GSPs, I know they'd find a way ruin fresh sod in my back yard.
Going to give it one more season trying to rescue this weed shite pit.
That being said, Prodiamine application in the spring is already working wonders compared to last year and my Bermuda is starting to really get going and crowd out the other crap. I made a poor choice on winter pre-emergent but that should help for next year. I'll probably do 2 spring applications next year as well.
Dallisgrass is a bitch. Just dig it out and sand/peat moss/top soil the holes and let the Bermuda fill in. Do what ronk said with Sod on St. Augustine. Bermuda will run over those spots if you're watering and feeding it a 3 pounds of 34-0-0 once a month by July or so.
