Moved into an older house and am having trouble with drain moths and springtails. Neither is really a damaging insect but just a pest and they multiply fast. Looking to skip the try this first then this and just skip to the get fricking rid of them phase. Any thoughts?

Maybe you can look into gentrol discs to start and see if they work on what you have. After that for the moths there are little glue traps you can get. I would do both though.

Clean sink thoroughly everyday, flush with hot water, plug drain when sink not in use. If garbage disposal, I’d use those disposal cleaning pouches that foam up
Also, have the little dishes w vinegar or wine, and a drop of dawn

all it takes is put an once or two of bleach in the drain each night, that kills them and their eggs

Bleach doesn't kill the eggs, but Ammonia will kill them. The eggs are usually in the ring of gunk that builds up around seals and connections. If the drain is in a sink, you are lucky. Fill you sink with hot water, and a good cup of a ammonia and then open the drain. If it has 2 sinks, do them both. Run the disposal as you drain. After the water and ammonia is gone, cover the drain. Let that sit for a while... DONE

Leave the lights on
Pour bifin it in the drain every evening they have a circadian rhythms if the lights are on they go back down the drain where the poison is and die.
